What kind of tablet would be better for me?

I'm a writer and I draw story art for the stories I have. I'm hoping to look into doing animation and putting up a web comic of one of my recent stories but I don't know what kind of tablet I should get. I've heard of bamboo, intuous4 and cintique but I would really like to know if there are others out there before I buy anything. I was planning on getting the intuous4 but i heard that the nibs wear down fast. So what should I do? ;(><);
